The Elvenking of Mirkwood; Thranduil, father of Legolas. His part in the first Hobbit was small, but he still did an incredible job. And Lee's likeness to Orlando is uncanny! Hopefully (and I know there will be, because I read the book) we will see more of him in coming Hobbit films. So the piece itself is done on printer paper with graphite. My technique for the armor was kindof like crosshatching but with tiny circles. More of them when it needs to be darker, less when it needs to shine. His hair I shaded and then used an eraser pencil to create the blonde effect. I've done that in the past, and it worked well for me. It took me several hours spaced over a few weeks, mainly due to the intricacy of the armor. Worth it though. Here's the image link, I welcome comparisons/constructive criticism! [link]
