This is an Egyptian sleeve tattoo design for the character "Rat" in my novels. That would be the sun god Ra at the top, with the sun balancing atop his pretty head. Next is the Udjat, the eye of Horus, which symbolizes healing and protection, and it is perched on top of the great pyramid like the all-seeing eye. Next is the sphinx, standing as the guardian of the pyramid, greeting whomever should approach with a great unsolvable riddle.
Below the sphinx is Uraeus, the cobra of legend who symbolizes protection, usually depicted spitting fire at enemies. However, in mine he is spitting ancient egyptian glyphs. The five symbols, in descending order, are Ankh (eternal life), Amenta (the Underworld), Was (power and dominion), the next one is just a glyph for a crown, symbolizing royalty or supremecy, then the udjat again.
Below Uraeus is Anubis, God of the Underworld, holding his ankh sceptor. Finishing it up is the tail of Uraeus, which snaked around (pun intended) Rat's wrist. Whew. I rule.
